Our carefully selected range of specialist stairlifts
The unique technology and expert design of the models we select for specialist installations allow us to design and fit stairlifts to 98% of staircases, including those with unique configurations such as spiral staircases, staircases in listed buildings, narrow staircases, and steep staircases.

Our specialist stairlift range from reputable manufacturers not only offers superior ride quality and reliability but also affords our surveyors and design team the ability to design a stairlift to fit where other suppliers cannot. We design this with not only the user in mind but allowing room for others to walk the stairs without compromising reliability, safety or comfort.

These are the models we choose for specialist installations – and the reasons why.

Flow X Specialist Solution Example

Due to the narrow width and tight turns on this staircase, along with the lack of space at the bottom of the stairs, other suppliers said a stairlift was not possible – but we knew a specialist stairlift solution would be possible.
The patented ASL technology of the Flow X allows the seat to auto-swivel throughout the journey, with specific angles required to negotiate the tight turns. With our technical surveyor’s specialist rail-start design at the bottom of the stairs, the stairlift can be parked out of the way and folded to allow enough space in the narrow walkway area downstairs.

Platinum Ergo Ultimate

The Platinum Ergo Ultimate is a British-made, innovative single rail stairlift with unique features that can make the seemingly impossible possible. The first-step start rail option avoids the need for a hinged rail where there is an obstacle like a door or open space at the bottom of the stairs, whilst the specialist option for forward-facing travel can solve a range of problems – suiting narrow stairs and helping ease symptoms of certain health conditions like vertigo. A heavy-duty option with a higher weight limit is also available.

Platinum Ergo Ultimate Specialist Solution Example

The ‘big name’ stairlift suppliers said they could not fit a stairlift on these stairs because of the doors either side at the bottom, as well as the door and open space at the top. Our expert surveyor knew that using the Platinum Ergo Ultimate specialist stairlift to its full capability would provide a solution.
The first-step start leaves the bottom of the stairs clear, with a park point for the stairlift a few steps up. The bespoke rail design at the top safely takes the stairlift user onto the top landing, without obstructing the door. An added bonus was the angled travel, allowing the handrails to stay in place for other stair users in the home.

Platinum Ergo Curve

A twin-rail system curved stairlift, the Platinum Ergo Curve combines an ergonomic space-saving seat with a slim rail design to achieve tight bends. Suitable for narrow stairs, with seat options to suit a range of users, this is a more traditional-looking specialist stairlift solution. Additional options include a hinged rail at the bottom to avoid obstacles, a heavy duty model with an increased weight limit and a powered swivel seat for easy dismounting at the top of the stairs.

Platinum Ergo Curve Specialist Solution Example

A straight stairlift was not an option on this staircase, as it would obstruct the front door directly at the bottom-right or the open space on the bottom-left. Other suppliers quoting for a curved stairlift configuration on the left-hand side were only offering expensive high-end models, due to the rail protrusion of the wraparound required at the bottom – as well as not wanting to fix into the tiled ground floor.
Thanks to our stairlift surveyor’s thorough knowledge of the Platinum Ergo Curve’s twin rail system, we were able to design a specialist solution at a more affordable cost, avoiding all obstacles at the bottom of the stairs with a tight 180-degree bend rail start. The Ergo seat pad was also used to account for the user’s restricted mobility in their knees, allowing them to sit comfortably throughout their journey. Additionally, our expert stairlift installers are fully trained on fixing into all kinds of tile or stone floor material.

Otolift Modul-Air Smart

The Otolift Modul-Air Smart stairlift has the smallest diameter rail tube of any other single-rail stairlift on the current market. It is specially designed for narrow and steep stairs, with various design options to overcome a range of obstacles – including the first-step start to avoid the need for a hinged rail and angled travel to negotiate narrow and steep stairs. A powered folding footrest comes as standard, removing the need to bend down and fold it up. The modular rail system means that, even though the curved rail system is designed specifically for your staircase, the required parts are held in factory stock for quicker bespoke manufacturing – meaning a quicker lead time to installation.

Otolift Modul-Air Smart Specialist Solution Example

With various rail start options at the bottom of the stairs, the Otolift Modul-Air Smart avoids obstacles or the need for a hinged rail. For example, the First Riser Start hangs on the first step; as a result, the rail takes up even less space and does not overhang doorways or open spaces like corridors.
Features such as the reverse drive technology help negotiate tight turns and steep stairs, allowing clearance to the user’s knees, with powered swivel options available for safe transfer at the top and bottom of the stairs.

Platinum Ergo Straight

The Platinum Ergo Straight has a specific seat design that allows this traditional straight stairlift to work on narrow staircases, often eliminating the need for a curved stairlift solution on a straight staircase. The ergonomic space-saving seat, combined with an optional Ergo Plus seat pad to gain more clearance, comes with powered swivel as standard. Additional options include a hinged rail at the bottom to avoid obstacles and a heavy duty model with an increased weight limit.

Platinum Ergo Straight Specialist Solution Example

Although the staircase in this home was not particularly narrow, the user’s mobility limited their ability to bend their knees and pull their feet back. Other stairlift suppliers could only offer curved stairlift solutions with angled travel that were not within the customer’s budget, and would require alteration work to the doors at the top and bottom of the stairs.
Knowing the ability of the Platinum Ergo Straight’s ergonomic space-saving seat design, combined with the Ergo Plus seat pad to gain more clearance and allow the user to sit comfortably, we were able to supply our specialist straight stairlift solution with a powered hinge at the bottom of the rail.
